     The sql server database can hold following types of objects:

  • Tables ( which stores data in the form of rows and columns).
  • Stored procedures and triggers which is used to access and manipulate data.
  • Views which are like virtual tables which can hold only those columns which you would want to see
  • Functions which are used for repetitive tasks.

Creating Database in SQL Server.

      There are two ways in which we can create database in SSMS, one is using the Graphical User Interface and Other using Query Editor.

To create using Query Editor :

Schema:

CREATE DATABASE {database name}

example:

CREATE DATABASE MyDB

This command will create a database with name "MyDB"

Dropping/Deleting Database in SQL Server.

schema:

DROP DATABASE {databse name}

example:

DROP DATABASE MyDB

This will drop / delete the MyDB database we just created.
